Steve Emerson Terrorism Expert Today Steve Emerson, who alleges to be an "expert on terror, wrote in a New York Post article titled "A MONSTER WITH CHUTZPAH" "GIVE Iranian President Mah moud Ahmadinejad credit for chutzpah: He has asked for permission to visit Ground Zero while he's in New York for a U.N. session....." I wrote back to Steve at stopterror@aol.com
Read your interesting NY Post article on Ahmadinejad's proposal to visit "ground zero". Do you imagine that using a derogatory Jewish phrase and the word "monster" to describe a Muslim leader is somehow helpful to the situation? In what way do you think? Does this somehow diffuse his rabid Anti-American posture? Why don't you friggin "terrorism experts" who want to "stop terror" address things like: Junior Bush has armed Islamic Pakistan, birthplace of the Taliban and Islamic Jihad, to the teeth with billion$ in state-of-the-art weapons including jets capable of delivering "nucular" weapons which they already count in their arsenal. Only the tenuous regime of Musharraf stands between those weapons and this fantastic arsenal falling into Islamic Jihad's hands and being used against American interests throughout the Middle East and maybe beyond. And his relationship with Bush/USA is growing more strained and uncertain daily besides. When do you and your ilk start calling Musharraf "a monster with chutzbah."? Do you fail to report and expound on these matters because you "experts" forgot that Ronald Reagan, Bush Sr, Ollie North and the GOP cartel aided, financed and armed the "terrorist states" of Iran, Afghanistan and Iraq (not to mention the contras)? Did you forget that Reagan/Bush handed the Mujahadeen victory in Afghanistan? Did you forget that Reagan/Bush traded arms for hostages to Iran? Did you forget that Bush Sr. supplied WMDs to Saddam Hussein? The poison gas he used on the Kurds for instance had Made in USA stamped all over it. Aiding Islamic extremist states has been a cornerstone and hallmark of Republican foreign policy for 25 years. Besides neglecting to mention the two decades of GOP aid to terrorist states, you also forgot Junior Bush himself allowed plane-loads of Saudi Arabians to leave America, without question, on September 12, 2001. And the hijackers were Saudi Arabians. How did that contribute to justice for 9/11 and the War on Terror? Any ideas? So what will you shit-for-brains "experts" say when these things come back and bite America on the ass? I'll tell you, with "experts" like you and Bush around, constantly outwitted and outflanked by irrational lunatics like Bin laden and Atta, America remains in dire peril indeed. You are not wrong about that. anonymousource |
| Will Domestic Terror Be“Born Again”in 2009? During the Bill Clinton years the Christian militia, White Supremist domestic terrorist movements enjoyed quite a fertile surge. A variety of American-born GOP Christian Taliban soldiers took a heavy toll of American lives, murdered doctors, police etc. and left lots of other casualties behind. They inspired a good deal of fear, and for some reason, divisive anti-government hatred in people. Good-ole-boy right-to-life Christian terrorists Tim McVeigh, Eric Rudolph, David Koresch and an impressive number of similar sociopaths, characters and KKKriminals (All White guys BTW) garnered quite a fan club. They were, and remain, heroes to many. So why did they disappear during the last 7 years? Simple. Their man is in the White House. Their fan club is the Bush/GOP base. The rank and file pseudo-Christian American Taliban rallied behind these KKKriminals and terrorists and all voted for Bush and the GOP. The pro-life anti-government murderers own Washington DC.
committed by these people, secretly, and not-so- secretly, admired by many, worked. America was frightened, convinced and cajoled into electing a worst terrorist to the White House than McVeigh ever dreamed of being. And, true to form, the sociopath Bush destroyed America as it was and presided over the deaths of 3,000 Americans on 9/11, 3,800 and 25,000 maimed in Iraq, 500,000 to 1,000,000 Muslims and an absolute epidemic of war crimes, torture, spying and destruction of civil rights and privacy; terrorism in all of its forms.
fundamentalists murdered mostly Jews, liberals, gays,Yankees, Blacks, other minorities and secularists. These, the decades-long avowed blood-enemies of the Red-State GOP Christian base, I wouldn't be surprised if the Red-Staters harbored some secret admiration and appreciation of their Jihad Muslim comrades who are every bit as pro-God, pro-life, anti-gay and anti- democracy etc....as Lyndsey Graham, Gingrich and Limbaugh & Ko....In reality the Islamics pretty much embrace the GOP platform plank for plank. I can't see where they differ except in their choice of vengeful evil Gods. So what happens in 2009 if a Democrat is elected to the White House and a Democrat Congress controls the government in Washington? Will the pro-life Christian MacVeighs and Rudolphs re-emerge to murder and maim Americans once again? Will the hate-filled bitter racist/bigot murderous American Christian militia be”born again”? |
“The International Criminal Court (ICC) was established in 2002 as a permanent tribunal to prosecute individuals for genocide crimes against humanity, war crimes and crimes of aggression.” Sounds like a good idea to me, and to the 141+ countries that ratified or signed on to it. But Bush/GOP, representing America, refused to sign-on and even heatedly cited these objections to the court, to wit: 1. National sovereignty 2. Universal Jurisdiction 3. Politically motivated prosecutions 4. Accountability 5. Separation of powers 6. Undermining the UN Security Council 7. Non-jury trials I can see how reasonable people could have some reservations about these issues. Take non- jury trials for instance. The OJ Simpson case and the trials of the “Jenna Six” prove the soundness of having uneducated, ignorant, emotional, racist juries deciding complicated high-law criminal cases….especially those involving racism-based crimes like genocide. And the amateur historians among us know that Nuremburg was a prime example of trial-by-jury at its best….not. Mostly what I fail to see is how Bush’s objection to the jury trial (ICC lack thereof) provision jibes with his illegal; unconstitutional (so ruled the US Supreme Court) attempt to try the Guantanamo Bay inmates with tribunals instead of juries. And Gitmo brings into question a few others of his “objections” to international justice such as: “national sovereignty” (of Afghanistan & Iraq) and “politically motivated prosecutions”. So what was the real reason Bush/GOP refused to sign on to the ICC? Well if you look at reason number 6. Undermining the UN Security Council, a mountain of contradiction springs to life. Who, in United Nations history, ever undermined the UN Security Council any more than Bush did? The short answer is nobody. But the USA has a lengthy history of using its veto to undermine democratically adopted UN Security Council resolutions: (http://www.phon.ucl.ac.uk/home/geoff/UNresolutions.htm). Here are a few samples: • 1972 Condemns Israel for killing hundreds of people in Syria & Lebanon in air raids. • 1973 Affirms the rights of the Palestinians and calls on Israel to withdraw from the occupied territories. • 1976 Condemns Israel for attacking Lebanese civilians. • 1976 Condemns Israel for building settlements in the occupied territories. • 1976 Calls for self determination for the Palestinians. • 1976 Affirms the rights of the Palestinians. • 1978 Urges the permanent members (USA, USSR, UK, France, China) to insure United Nations decisions on the maintenance of international peace and security. • 1978 Criticizes the living conditions of the Palestinians. • 1978 Condemns the Israeli human rights record in occupied territories Needless to say this is a big part of the reason Islamic Jihad terrorists see America as an Israeli ally and enabler, and have targeted Americans, starting BTW with Bobby Kennedy…. not 9/11. Bush of course took “Undermining the UN Security Council” to a whole new level when he sent Colin Powell with a satchel full of lies, forged documents and photographs to sell the case for invading Iraq to the UN. They didn’t buy it. Bush then withdrew a US-proposed resolution for invasion when it was clear it would be defeated, arrogantly deciding he didn’t need their approval anyway. Then Bush warned the United Nations weapons inspectors and personnel out of Iraq or face America’s military death machine. Then Bush invaded Iraq anyway, essentially unilaterally, against the democratic will of the Security Council. To their everlasting shame, wizened credibility, power and moral disgrace the United Nations did nothing in the face of Bush’s illegal and defiant actions against them and a member sovereign state. They have never recovered their dignity or authority. Bush and the GOP from that day forward sought to undermine and further diminish the UN in every way possible, scandalizing them with the Oil For Food Program in which a paltry few hundred thousand dollars, of untold (untolled?) billion$ in dirty money, reached some UN hands, though the US corporate mainstream media never revealed that the bribe money that fueled and financed Saddam, and circumvented….ahhhh…the UN Security Council sanctions and embargo…. came from the multi-national oil/corporate cartel….the “have-mores”. I guess the International Criminal Court would have to go some to match Bush’s record of “undermining the UN Security Council”!! “The Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change is an amendment to the international treaty on climate change, assigning mandatory emission limitations for the reduction of greenhouse gases emissions to the signatory nations.” 169 countries have signed on, but Bush/GOP kept the USA out, and notably Australia, another Iraq ally, has stood clear of it. Though hardly comparable to the marginalizing of the United Nations, the USA rebut of the Kyoto Protocol like the ICC brings into clear focus the true agenda of Bush/GOP, and whose interests they really serve. So where does this all lead? It’s no real secret to anybody with a brain bigger than a peanut, that the multi-national monopolistic corporate cartel of American business, the Bush/GOP “have-mores” base, has been gleefully operating in the legal netherworld of globalization for many years now. The World Trade Organization is a relatively new face for support and derision, but the real bosses have been in place for…dare I say?….many decades. The very idea of stopping globalization is absurdly waaay late. The world was globalized in 1945, but since the economic collapse of the USSR, it has been the oyster of Western business interests, meaning chiefly American multi-national corporations. When you consider that Coke and Pepsi….who specialize in selling colored-sugar-water which rots people’s teeth and is of no nutritional value at all, are the two most recognized business icons across the planet Earth, it makes pretty clear how amazing the power of corporate influence is, and how far and wide the tentacles of brigand capitalism have spread. From “off-shore” tax shelters designed specifically to evade income taxes …..to oil tankers registered in Liberia…to exploiting the 3rd world lack of labor and environmental laws….the facets of this colossal international business conspiracy are too numerous to comprehend much less list here….a heavy blood-drain on the Earth’s human and natural resources. This legal netherworld carefully constructed by the “multinational corporations” is beyond the regulation, law and enforcement of any one country…And now Bush/GOP & Co have placed their corporate cartel sponsors ever further beyond the reach of any law, justice and purview by negating, ignoring and refusing international attempts, such as the United Nations, International Criminal Court, Kyoto Treaty, and all other treaties and accords to bring some coherent, uniform law to the “emerging globalizing” world and all of it’s international elements. There are also some serious reasons to believe that Bush/GOP undertook the whole Iraq (and Afghanistan) invasions/fiasco, in fact used the US military for private enterprise on behalf of the American oil/arms cartel’s business interests in the Middle-East, with the purpose of co- opting Iraq’s mineral resources and essentially making them, not America, commanding member of OPEC, all of which violate every international law, treaty, and agreement heretofore known to man, including every item on Bush’s list of objections to the International Criminal Court. (Bonu$$ jackpot!!!) Not that the war hasn’t accidentally bankrupted the American taxpayer and oil consumer and put the money in the very same pockets). Americans should think about this after the Bush/GOP criminal cartel, the government they elected themselves, exits next year and leaves behind a pathetic wheezing husk of a friendless United States of America, with American pitted against American, duped and misled, victimized by brigand capitalist multi-nationals and insane Islamic terrorists alike, pillaged and sucked dry of the happiness, hope, prosperity, goodwill, justice, wealth, future, humanity and promise for which it was once admired and envied the world over. |
